YouTube is reportedly mass restricting accounts and ramping up age verification

YouTube announced in July that it would expand a new age-estimation technology to the US, following successful trials in Europe. This system works by looking at things like how long an account has been active, what the user does on YouTube, and their viewing history to guess if someone is a minor. It also considers the kinds of videos people search for and watch to help determine their age.

Hideo Kojima Had To Make Sure That OD Wasn’t Haunted By A Real Ghost

As a huge Kojima fan, I was so excited to hear him talk about his next game, OD! He said at the Beyond the Strand event that he wants the game to take us all over the world to really creepy, unsettling locations. And get this – he wants us to be the first to *scan* a ghost in the game, and even win an award for it! It sounds absolutely wild and I can’t wait to see what he creates.

Pokemon responds after ICE uses its assets in viral video

A video posted by the Department of Homeland Security on X (formerly Twitter) shows Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents making arrests, set to the theme song from the Pokémon anime. The video incorporates scenes from the anime and concludes by presenting people being deported as Pokémon trading cards. DHS captioned the post with the Pokémon slogan, “Gotta Catch ’Em All.”

Steam’s New Personalized Menu Is Now Widely Available

We’ve updated the search function on Steam with several improvements. The new search panel is more powerful and includes things like trending searches, your recent activity, and the ability to search beyond just games – you can now look for publishers and other content too. The search bar is also now located at the top of the screen and stays there as you navigate Steam, making it always accessible.
