Black Bag Star on Working with Steven Soderbergh and Leaving Acting Behind
Blanchett discussed how she and Fassbender managed to concentrate on their characters’ marriage despite the numerous spy elements in the movie, stating that it was primarily due to direction from Steven Soderbergh. She explained that Soderbergh skillfully guides a thrilling production, and as an actor, one must simply strap in and stay within his wake. One of Soderbergh’s exceptional qualities as a director, Blanchett noted, is his ability to create both psychological and emotional coherence while maintaining rhythmic sense. She attributed this to his exceptional editing skills.
In a recent chat with the press, Blanchett expressed that she has over 70 movies in her repertoire and two Academy Awards to her name. “My loved ones chuckle whenever I mention it, but I’m sincere,” she shared. “I’m genuinely considering quitting acting,” she added, revealing a desire to explore other aspects of life.
For several years, Cate Blanchett has been involved with environmental and humanitarian initiatives. In fact, she teamed up to create the “Climate of Change” podcast in 2022. Additionally, she serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
