Cataclismo Gameplay

Cataclismo – Official Gameplay Trailer | Guerrilla Collective 2024

In Cataclismo, you engage in building and strategizing for a base defense game. A significant aspect of your experience involves erecting fortifications, walls, and essential structures to bolster your defenses against monster attacks.

As a dedicated player, I’m thrilled about the game’s day-night cycle feature. During the sunlit hours, my main focus is on scouring the terrain for essential resources like wood and stone. I collect these materials to fortify my defenses by constructing structures. Additionally, I establish facilities such as quarries to harness these resources effectively, ensuring I’m well-prepared for the night ahead.

Instead of focusing only on building resources collection structures, gamers should additionally create barracks, purifiers, among others, for defending against incoming adversaries and dealing with harmful surroundings.

In this game, players have the intriguing ability to create walls not by setting a predefined shape, but rather by stacking blocks, much like in voxel games. This flexibility allows players to construct walls of varying heights, yet they must consider structural stability in their designs.

As the sun sets, adversaries will initiate assaults on the player’s base. The players will need to employ both natural defenses, such as walls and spikes, and troops to counterattack. Their arsenal includes diverse units, including archers, cannonners, and more.

In this area, the laws of physics become crucial. When pieces of a wall are damaged, the entire structure above it may collapse. This danger poses a threat to both allies and adversaries, making it feasible for players to purposefully weaken sections of the wall to lure enemies into deadly traps.

After the night is over, players must collect resources once more to fix and enhance their defenses in preparation for the following night.

Cataclismo offers three distinct gameplay experiences for players: In the first one, a solo narrative campaign, you’ll find yourself defending humanity against adversaries. The second option is Skirmish Mode, which lets you explore meticulously designed battlefields. Lastly, there’s the Challenge Mode, featuring endless replayability as you engage in procedurally generated battles.

Cataclismo Story

After the occurrence of the global disaster referred to as Cataclismo, the story unfolds. The aftermath of this catastrophe has contaminated the Earth’s atmosphere, soil, and water, leading to the emergence of twisted creatures named Horrors, whose sole mission is to annihilate mankind.

Despite the grim situation, humans have found hope by uniting in The Last City, a stronghold shielding them from decay and terror. However, it’s essential to remember that The Last City offers only relative safety. The Horrors continue their relentless pursuit of human prey.

I’m part of the brave squad dispatched from the Last City to build fortifications and strongholds on its outskirts. We’re the city’s shield against the approaching Horrors, and my role is pivotal – if I falter, so does the Last City. My every fight is a battle for its survival.

As a seasoned video game enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I can tell you that “Cataclismo” is a fairly new addition to the gaming scene. The information we have about this game is quite comprehensive, though. We know its release date is yet to be announced, but we’ve got a solid understanding of its gameplay and storyline.
