At Sony’s State of Play event, Konami announced a new 2D Castlevania game called Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. It’s scheduled to release this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
Evil Empire is developing a new Castlevania game, Belmont’s Curse, with guidance from Motion Twin. This is exciting news because both studios previously collaborated on the popular game Dead Cells and its updates, even releasing Castlevania-inspired content for it as downloadable content. Belmont’s Curse takes place twenty years after the story of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam later this year.

More than twenty years after the events of Castlevania III and the recent animated series, the Belmont family’s story continues in 15th century Paris. Taking on the role of Trevor Belmont’s heir, players wield the powerful Vampire Killer whip to battle monstrous creatures and a mysterious castle that threaten to plunge the city into eternal darkness. Their mission: hunt down the beasts and save the people of Paris.
