CarX Street - Console (Xbox, PS4, PS5, Switch) Release

As a seasoned gamer with decades of racing games under my belt, I must say, the release of CarX Street on PC has left me both excited and perplexed. Excited because I’ve always had a soft spot for street racing games, and perplexed because I can’t seem to play it on my beloved console.

Just a while back, CarX Street made its debut on PC platforms. This game is actually based on a mobile version and, as its title hints, it’s all about street racing. Despite some less-than-perfect feedback (with a questionable economy system being one of the criticisms), plenty of gamers are eager to give it a try, especially on consoles. However, at this moment in time, there’s no console version available.

CarX Street – Console (Xbox, PS4, PS5) Release

At the moment, CarX Street is not available for console play. Given the past trends of the series, though, it’s reasonable to expect that we may be able to play it on consoles at some point in the future. For instance, CarX Drift Racing Online was launched on mobile devices in 2014, PC in 2017, PS4 in 2019, Xbox One in 2020, and Switch in 2021. Other games from the series have not been as widely ported, but CarX Highway Racing made its way to the Switch this year, after debuting on mobile devices in 2017. This suggests that the developers are increasingly looking at other platforms. However, they tend to take their time with ports, so there might be a delay of up to a year or more before a console version is released. If you’re eager to play CarX Street right away, your options are to purchase it for PC or try out the Android or iOS versions.

Remember that if the game is available on consoles, it’s likely not a free-to-play title and you’ll need to purchase it instead. This transition from free-to-play (F2P) to buy-to-play (B2P) can sometimes cause confusion among fans, so keep that in mind when making your gaming decisions.
