‘Carrie’ TV Series From Mike Flanagan in the Works at Amazon

As a seasoned movie enthusiast who has weathered countless storms of horror films, both good and bad, I must say that the news about Mike Flanagan‘s adaptation of Stephen King’s “Carrie” for Amazon MGM Studios sends shivers down my spine…and not just because of Carrie’s infamous telekinetic powers.

Development is underway for a TV series remake of Stephen King’s “Carrie,” produced by renowned horror creator Mike Flanagan, as we’ve found out from our sources at Amazon MGM Studios.

The series logline describes it as a “bold and timely reimagining of the story of misfit high-schooler Carrie White, who has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother. After her father’s sudden and untimely death, Carrie finds herself contending with the alien landscape of public High School, a bullying scandal that shatters her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.”

Flanagan is set to pen and co-produce a potential TV series, all under his production house, Intrepid Pictures. Alongside him, Trevor Macy from Intrepid will also take on the role of executive producer. Melinda Nishioka will be in charge of overseeing the project for the company. Currently, Flanagan and Intrepid are working under an all-encompassing contract with Amazon MGM Studios.
