‘Carrie’: Mike Flanagan’s Amazon TV Series Sets Main Cast, Including Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White

Mike Flanagan‘s Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of “Carrie” has rounded out its main cast.

EbMaster has found out that 10 actors have been cast for lead roles in a series, which is adapted from Stephen King’s novel with the same name. As EbMaster previously announced in April, Summer H. Howell will take on the role of Carrie White, while Siena Agudong has been chosen to play Sue Snell. It was also earlier reported that Matthew Lillard would be joining the cast as Principal Grayle.

The other series regulars are:

–Samantha Sloyan (“The Fall of the House of Usher,” “Grey’s Anatomy”) as Margaret White

–Alison Thornton (“Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce,” “School Spirits”) as Chris Hargensen

In this revised cast, Thalia Dudek (“The Running Man,” “The Undertow”) takes on the role of Emaline, Amber Midthunder (“Legion,” “Prey”) becomes Miss Desjardin, Josie Totah (“Saved by the Bell,” “The Buccaneers”) portrays Tina, and Arthur Conti (“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “& Sons”) plays Billy. Meanwhile, Joel Oulette (“Sullivan’s Crossing,” “Nancy Drew”) assumes the role of Tommy.

In this new project, Sloyan and Flanagan are teaming up again. Previously, Sloyan was a part of Flanagan’s productions such as “The Haunting of Hill House,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Midnight Club,” “Midnight Mass,” and even featured in his 2016 movie “Hush.”

Sloyan and Flanagan are joining forces once more for their latest production. Sloyan has previously starred in various projects by Flanagan, including “The Haunting of Hill House,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Midnight Club,” “Midnight Mass,” as well as his 2016 film “Hush.

Back in October 2024, it was first mentioned that “Carrie” was being worked on by Amazon. Then, in April 2025, they officially gave the project the go-ahead. The company has commissioned eight episodes for the series, and they plan to start filming in Vancouver within a few weeks.

Flanagan has been appointed as both the executive producer and showrunner, and will also write and direct some episodes for the upcoming series. Meanwhile, Trevor Macy will serve as an executive producer, and it’s Amazon MGM Studios that will be responsible for production.

The show is portrayed as a “fresh and relevant retelling” of the tale about an outcast high-schooler named Carrie White (Howell), who has grown up sheltered under her controlling mother’s (Sloyan) watch. Following her father’s unexpected and unfortunate demise, Carrie must navigate the unfamiliar territory of public school, face a bullying incident that rocks her community, and uncover the emergence of strange telekinetic abilities.
