Care home goes viral with competitive Wii Bowling team that are undefeated for 5 years

A senior living facility in Oklahoma is getting a lot of attention online thanks to its popular Wii Bowling league. One of the teams has been on a winning streak since 2021!

Wii Bowling remains a beloved and popular game for many. There’s a special satisfaction in getting a strike and hearing that classic celebration sound after a perfect throw with the Wii Remote.

For people who enjoy bowling but find it physically challenging to lift heavy balls or bend down, Wii Bowling offers a fantastic alternative. This is certainly true at University Village care home in Oklahoma, where a team actively competes in a Wii Bowling league.

The care home’s team is getting a lot of attention online thanks to videos of their success! They haven’t been defeated in five years, and they’re constantly adding new talented members.

Care home Wii Bowling league goes viral

The UV Okies, a team based at a care home, continue their incredible winning streak! They’ve now gone five seasons without a loss and recently secured another victory against Town Village in a match, proving they’re true champions.

This bowling match featured a particularly exciting moment: one of our residents made it into the top eight out of over 40 competitors – a first for them! These achievements are always special, and it’s clear the UV Okies are a team on the rise.

Last year, the team earned a spot in the National Senior Wii Bowling League. The best part is, they can compete without leaving their care home, as the games are played remotely.

Many Instagram users expressed interest in betting on Wii Bowling, with one person commenting, “We need more league updates!”

One person remarked, reflecting on the future, “This is what I have to look forward to as I get older.” Another jokingly predicted that competitive Call of Duty would be a popular pastime in nursing homes within the next 30 to 40 years. A third commenter then wondered who the best player in this emerging scene would be, asking, “Who’s the LeBron James of this?”

The video features real bowling, despite being narrated by an AI voice – it’s not a staged joke like the one involving Basin Creek Retirement Home on TikTok.

I remember seeing this place online last November – it looked like a beautiful retirement home, and everyone was sharing it! But then we all found out it wasn’t actually real, which was so disappointing. It really bummed a lot of people out.
