‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Adds Composer Laura Karpman (EXCLUSIVE)

As a dedicated fan and admirer of the remarkable achievements of women in the film industry, I am absolutely ecstatic about Laura Karpman joining the team for “Captain America: Brave New World”. Her talent is evident in her previous works with Marvel, and her passion for diverse representation makes her an ideal fit.

Laura Karpman will compose the score for Marvel’s “Captain America: Brave New World.“

Karpman has previously contributed his musical talents to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically composing for the Disney+ shows “What If…?” and “The Marvels.”

In the fourth Captain America movie, Anthony Mackie portrays Sam Wilson, a flying superhero previously known as Captain America’s partner, Falcon. Mackie assumes the role from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers who starred in all three prior “Captain America” films and four “Avengers” movies.

In this new chapter, I find myself face-to-face with Harrison Ford’s character, U.S. President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. He proposes an intriguing offer for Captain America to join the American ranks. The pace picks up swiftly as the superhero thwarts a potential White House assassin. True to rumors, we see Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross undergoing a transformation into the Red Hulk in this movie.

The movie slated for release in 2025 is helmed by Julius Onah, with production handled by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore. Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth are the film’s executive producers.

Karpman expressed great excitement about working with Marvel Studios once more on ‘Captain America: Brave New World’. He admires Sam Wilson immensely for his determination, intelligence, courage, charm, and charisma. It is a privilege for him to contribute to this remarkable film with an engaging and impactful score.

At the recent #D23 Music from Marvel event, it was revealed that Laura Karpman is set to compose the music for Marvel Studio’s upcoming film, Captain America: Brave New World.

Karpman, who runs an all-female studio, has various upcoming projects lined up. These include multiple Marvel projects such as Season 3 of “What If?” and the Apple Vision Pro Marvel experience, a documentary about Brett Kavanaugh by Doug Liman titled “Justice”, a musical adaptation of Dorothy Arzner’s classic MGM film “Dance Girl Dance”, two undisclosed video game projects, and another unannounced TV series.

In her role as founder of the Alliance of Women Film Composers, Karpman is a passionate advocate for promoting diversity and fairness within Hollywood. As the trailblazing first female governor in the music branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Karpman spearheaded significant improvements regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion, and was instrumental in admitting numerous underrepresented voices who had previously been overlooked.

Karpman is repped by UTA.
