Capcom Hopes Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Will Lead to More Remakes & Sequels

As a seasoned gamer with decades of zombie-slaying escapades under my belt, I must admit that the announcement of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has sent chills of anticipation down my spine. The original game, a beloved gem exclusive to Xbox 360 for far too long, is finally getting the remake it deserves, complete with quality-of-life improvements that will surely elevate Frank West’s first adventure.

The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is poised to carry on Capcom’s tradition of excellent re-releases, allowing gamers another opportunity to revisit Frank West’s initial journey with enhancements to the user experience. Originally, this game was exclusively available on Xbox 360 for a considerable period, but it has since been adapted for contemporary systems in more recent times.

The enhanced version of Dead Rising, titled the Deluxe Remaster, has breathed fresh air into the franchise, prompting Capcom to contemplate further development of the Dead Rising universe. This could potentially lead to a new installment in the series or additional remakes, and fans are thrilled about this prospect.

In conversation with IGN, the development team expressed their aspirations for extending the Dead Rising series down the line. If the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster proves popular among fans, there’s a chance we could see additional installments in this overlooked zombie series sooner rather than later.

Over the past few years, Capcom has consistently launched remakes and fresh installments of the Resident Evil series. The remakes for Resident Evil 2 and 3 bridged the gap between Resident Evil 7 and Village. Following Village’s release, fans were treated to a fantastic remake of Resident Evil 4 as well. Interestingly, Capcom hinted that other spin-off titles like Code Veronica could potentially receive the remake treatment too.

As a passionate fan of the zombie series, I’m eagerly hoping Capcom will adopt a strategy akin to Dead Rising in their upcoming project. The series took a turn for many of us after Dead Rising 4 removed the time limit and diluted Frank West’s original charm. This potential remake could serve as a much-needed refresh, rekindling our love for this franchise.

On September 19, the digitally remastered edition of Dead Rising is set to launch. Its physical counterpart will follow in November. Players can acquire this title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, or PC platforms.
