Capcom has recently been concentrating on popular series like Street Fighter, Resident Evil, and Monster Hunter. However, a new announcement to investors reveals that Capcom plans to broaden its focus and bring back three more of its well-known franchises: Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney.
Capcom has released its 2025 Integrated Report, which reveals that Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney are among its most successful franchises, ranking fourth, fifth, and seventh respectively. According to COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto, Capcom plans to build on these popular game series and develop them further.
Capcom releases around two or three big new games every year, but we’re working on developing even more in the future, according to Tsujimoto. We have many well-known franchises like Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney, and we plan to reach more players and improve our results by releasing new games, updated versions, and ports of these titles on new gaming systems. We believe strengthening these brands and building dedicated fan communities will turn them into long-term, key properties for the company.
Tsujimoto explained that Capcom is aiming to hire more people so they can create even more games annually. They’re also growing their development team in Osaka, with the new facility expected to be completed in 2027.
It’s been a while since a completely new Mega Man game – the last one, Mega Man 11, came out in 2018. While a collection of older Mega Man Star Force games is planned for release in 2026, fans are still hoping for a new installment. The same is true for Devil May Cry, which hasn’t had a new game since 2019. An animated series on Netflix might help increase interest and lead to a sequel for that series as well.
The Ace Attorney series has been re-released on multiple occasions, with the newest releases being the Apollo Justice Trilogy and Investigations Collection, which came out in 2024.
