Capcom Announces Major Patch for Dragon's Dogma 2 Six Months After Release. It Will Most Likely Fix Performance Issues on PC

As a long-time fan of the Dragon’s Dogma series, I must admit that the release of Dragon’s Dogma II has been a rollercoaster ride for me. The game showed great promise initially, but the technical issues on PC have left me feeling like I’m battling not just griffins and dragons, but also the game’s performance.

The action Role-Playing Game (RPG), Dragon’s Dogma II, was initially released in a less than perfect technical condition, particularly on PC platforms. Since its launch in March, several minor updates have been implemented but they failed to rectify the issues. However, there is optimism that these problems will soon be addressed and resolved.

  1. Capcom has announced that it’s finalizing its next update.
  2. The patch aims to optimize the game’s processor usage, reduce engine freezing, and introduce several other improvements. The publisher’s note informs that the patch will be available for all platforms, but PC players are the most eager for it, as they need it the most.
  3. The release date of the update and more information about the content will be revealed soon.

The fact that Dragon’s Dogma II has received a mixed response on Steam, with just 60% of all reviews being positive for the RPG, suggests that there are significant areas requiring technical upgrades in the game. This assessment is based on Steam’s categorization of the title. When we look at reviews from the last month alone, the proportion of favorable opinions drops even further to 54%. It seems that players are particularly critical about the game’s poor optimization and technical flaws.

On March 22, Dragon’s Dogma 2 became available on PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5. Notably, this game will be one of the ones enhanced to utilize the increased capabilities provided by the PlayStation 5.
