At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 held in Las Vegas, Bitcoin ASIC manufacturer Canaan unveiled their newest offerings: the Avalon Mini 3 and Nano 3S.
These Bitcoin mining gadgets are designed to make it easier for people to mine cryptocurrencies, all while offering distinctive two-in-one practicality.
As a crypto investor, I’ve recently come across an exciting development: the Avalon Mini 3. This innovative device not only offers top-tier Bitcoin mining capabilities with a hash rate of 37.5Th/s but also serves as a home heating solution. The user-friendly interface is controlled via an app, making it a breeze to manage and optimize my mining operations right from the comfort of my home.
Simultaneously, the Avalon Nano 3S is an enhanced model of the well-liked Nano 3, boasting a hash rate of 6 Th/s and positioning itself as a user-friendly choice for individuals dipping their toes into Bitcoin mining.
The benefits of these products are their easy-to-install plug-and-play feature for user convenience and their emphasis on energy conservation. The Avalon Mini 3 addresses environmental issues by converting computational energy into home heating, enabling users to lower energy bills and reduce waste simultaneously. Canaan’s CEO, NG Zhang, discussed the company’s goal of blending functionality with sustainability, stating that they aim to make their products both practical and eco-friendly.
As an analyst, I’d rephrase it this way: “In my view, the Avalon Mini 3 and Avalon 3S embody our commitment to offering user-friendly, eco-conscious mining solutions tailored for today’s individuals. We’re innovating to strike a balance between creating value and minimizing environmental impact. The energy-efficient design of the Avalon Mini 3, which generates cryptocurrency while providing heating for your home, embodies our vision for sustainable, versatile technology.
The idea of repurposing cryptocurrency mining rigs for everyday household use has been around for some time. As early as 2017, Avi Aisenberg, running South Florida Distillers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, innovated a heating system that combined crypto mining with rum distillation. In the following year, French startup Qarnot launched the QC-1, a heater tailored for cryptocurrency mining purposes.
Lately, companies such as Heatbit and D-Central have made their entrance into the market, offering devices that integrate both heating functions and cryptocurrency mining.
