Escape from Tarkov is a highly influential game in the extraction shooter genre, inspiring titles like the recent hit, Escape from Duckov. Until now, it hadn’t been available on Steam, the most popular PC gaming platform, and required its own separate launcher. While Steam has its pros and cons, it boasts a massive player base, and many gamers prefer to keep all their games in one place. So, it’s no surprise there was excitement when Escape from Tarkov announced it would finally be available on Steam. Good news for existing players: you’ll be able to transfer your progress from the standalone launcher!
How to transfer Escape from Tarkov progress
Good news for players – you can transfer your progress to the game! Whether you’re new or a veteran, you’ll need a Battlestate Games account and link it to your Steam account. While creating another account might seem like an extra step for newcomers, it means existing players can access their saved character and progress without any problems. Your character information is stored on your Battlestate Games profile.
The Escape from Tarkov Steam FAQ also reveals that even if you already own a more expensive edition of the game through the official launcher, you’ll still be able to use it after linking your accounts. This means you can effectively upgrade to that edition for free when playing on Steam, even if you purchase the Standard Edition on Valve’s platform.
