Bruce Campbell, known for his role in Evil Dead, recently shared with his fans on X (formerly Twitter) that he’s been diagnosed with cancer. While it’s treatable, it isn’t curable. He didn’t specify the type of cancer, but wanted to let everyone know he’ll be scaling back on public appearances and work to focus on treatment. Campbell joked that he’s framing his diagnosis as an ‘opportunity’ and plans to prioritize getting well over the summer. He hopes to be healthy enough to promote his new film, Ernie & Emma, this fall. He both stars in and directed Ernie & Emma, which tells the story of a widower following his late wife’s wishes for her ashes.
The actor from Evil Dead announced he’s had to cancel some upcoming events and wanted to inform his fans directly. He finished by saying he’s strong and has good support, so he anticipates a full recovery and plans to continue working for a long time.
