Brown Dust II Steam release has been cancelled

Neowiz has decided to cancel the Steam launch of Brown Dust II. They explained that the game, as it currently exists, doesn’t meet Steam’s policy requirements.

I was a little disappointed to hear the original plan got cancelled, but the team assured us we’re still getting rewards for supporting the game! They’re going to distribute everything we earned through the Steam pre-release stuff – like those wishlist goals we hit – to all players after the update on December 16th, which is awesome!

Here’s the announcement from the official website (please be aware that the website currently contains mature content in its background images). Brown Dust 2 is now available to play on Android and iOS. A PC version is also available for direct download, and the developers, Neowiz, are working on a more official PC release platform.

I just wanted to say, on behalf of the whole team, a huge thank you to everyone who’s been excited about our game coming to Steam! We really appreciate all the support.

We’ve been working towards releasing the game on Steam for a while now, but we’ve run into a problem with their rules that we can’t fix in this version.

After extensive internal discussion, we have decided not to proceed with a Steam release.

We deeply regret disappointing all of you who were waiting and cheering us on.

We explored several ways to launch the game, but ultimately decided that changing things now would compromise its original vision and quality. So, we won’t be making those adjustments at this time.

To everyone who helped make our Steam launch a success, we’re still planning to deliver all the rewards we previously mentioned, such as:

Community event rewards related to Steam, and Wishlist milestone rewards

These will be sent out after the December 16 update.

We’re looking into different options for running BrownDust2 on PCs to improve the experience, and we’ll let you know what we decide as soon as we can.

We’re truly sorry we didn’t meet your expectations this time. We’re committed to providing a better, more reliable service to earn back your trust and support.
