Brian Stelter Returns to CNN Two Years After Network Canceled His Show

As a seasoned movie buff with a penchant for dissecting character arcs and following the twists and turns of their lives, I must say that Brian Stelter‘s return to CNN is reminiscent of a well-crafted Hollywood comeback tale. After a brief hiatus, he’s stepping back into the spotlight, not as the same old anchor, but as a seasoned media analyst with a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of purpose.

Brian Stelter is back at CNN.

In a message to CNN’s “Reliable Sources” subscribers, Stelter announced his return as the main writer for the media-focused newsletter he established in 2015. He mentioned that the revamped newsletter will debut on September 9th.

Previously, under its past management team, CNN decided to end Stelter’s TV show titled “Reliable Sources” in 2022, resulting in his departure from the network. More recently, following Oliver Darcy’s exit last month, Stelter has taken over the responsibility of continuing the “Reliable Sources” newsletter.

“However, it’s important to clarify that this won’t be a reboot of ‘Back to the Future’. The media landscape has advanced, CNN has progressed, and my personal growth since leaving two years ago is significant. I cherished my previous role as the host of a Sunday morning show, but I’ve completed that phase of my career. Now it’s time for fresh stages, novel challenges.”

Stelter announced his return to CNN with a fresh assignment as the Chief Media Analyst. This position involves him appearing on TV, creating digital content, and overseeing this newsletter. The role will differ from before since he himself is evolving.

“I used to dismiss those who claimed ‘getting let go was the best thing that’s ever happened to me’, but now, having experienced it myself, I can truly understand their perspective,” Stelter penned down.
