At the Red Sea Film Festival held in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, Brendan Fraser – winner of the Oscar for his performance in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale” – disclosed the genuine motivation behind selecting him for the part.
Fraser mentioned that Aronofsky was seeking an actor who had been out of the spotlight, and he felt that description fit him perfectly for the role of Charlie, the solitary, heavily overweight English teacher.
