With more records likely to be broken as the weekend continues, the domestic earnings currently stand at $64.8 million internationally for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which is open in major markets except China, where it debuts on Friday.
Based on early predictions, the “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie is projected to earn an impressive domestic opening of around $160 million to $170 million. However, some experts believe this figure might be too modest, as they anticipate it could debut closer to $190 million or even $200 million. Such a strong start would make it the highest-grossing opening weekend of 2023, surpassing “Inside Out 2″‘s $155 million. The film is expected to generate between $350 million and $390 million in global earnings within its first week. With a production budget of $200 million and marketing costs around $100 million, the movie looks set for an extremely profitable run.
Why is the team-up of “Deadpool & Wolverine” so beloved by fans? With Disney’s acquisition of Fox and its film assets, these beloved X-Men and Fantastic Four characters will now join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have long anticipated the encounter between Reynolds’ Deadpool, Jackman’s Wolverine, and other iconic Marvel figures such as Captain America, Thor, and Spider-Man.
