Bounce to perfection in this brick-smashing action. Ball x Pit combines a classic formula with roguelike mechanics in one addictive package

The classic game *Breakout*, created by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs in 1976, inspired *Arkanoid* a decade later. You’d think the ‘bat and ball’ concept had been explored enough, but developers keep finding new ways to innovate. *Ball x Pit* takes that familiar idea and blends it with the fast-paced action of vertical shooters, the replayability of roguelikes, and the strategy of base building – a winning combination! The demo generated a lot of buzz, and now the full game is available. Consider my sleep schedule officially ruined – I’m busy rebuilding Ballbylone!

Smash, bounce, and build

Ball x Pit became available on October 15th on almost all gaming platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. If you enjoy roguelike games like Balatro, CloverPit, or Slay the Spire and are looking for a new challenge, Ball x Pit could be your next obsession.

Get ready for a wild, fast-paced game where you destroy waves of enemies by smashing, bouncing, and blasting! It takes the classic brick-breaker gameplay and adds a modern twist, creating chaotic runs that surprisingly require strategy. Just when you start to feel in control, the arena expands and even more enemies appear. You’ll upgrade your projectiles – your ‘balls’ – and even rescue the legendary Ballbylone, who was once lost in a massive ball and fell into a bottomless pit!

The game features lots of unlockable skills, upgrades, and different types of balls. But the most exciting part is combining and evolving those balls. In *Ball x Pit*, you can create incredibly strong combinations – that’s where the real enjoyment comes from. Imagine a bouncy ball that gets even bouncier and more powerful, easily destroying everything in its path!

After each challenging run, you’ll come back to New Ballbylon, your central base. Here, you can use the buildings and resources you’ve collected to unlock new heroes. These heroes not only fight alongside you, but they can also take care of repetitive tasks, keeping your resources coming in even while you’re exploring further.

Ball x Pit was created by Kenny Sun, a solo game developer who makes delightfully unusual games. I especially enjoy his game, Mr. Sun’s Hatbox.
