Both Editions Of Pokemon Legends: Z-A Are Up For Preorder At Amazon

You can now pre-order Pokemon Legends: Z-A for your Nintendo Switch 2 or Switch, available through Amazon. This joins other titles that the retailer is now offering after a hiatus in selling Nintendo games since the beginning of last year. The sequel to Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes you back to the Kalos region on October 16. Besides Amazon, enthusiasts can also pre-order either edition at Walmart, Best Buy, and various other retailers.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A can be purchased for $60 on a Nintendo Switch, while the price on a Switch 2 is listed at $70. It’s intriguing to note that Walmart’s links for both versions of the Switch suggest an exclusive gift comes with the game, but upon closer inspection, this information isn’t mentioned on their store pages yet. So, it could be that the details in the URLs are incorrect. As we gather more information, we will share updates.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Preorder Bonuses

While Pokemon titles have offered pre-purchase incentives historically, most Nintendo first-party games do not. Instead, merchants like Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop occasionally engage in competition by providing exclusive items as bonuses. It’s uncertain at this point if other significant retailers will follow suit with unique offers.

If you place a pre-order at a Pokemon Center located in the U.S., Canada, or UK, you might receive a chance to get one of the adorable Pokemon Sitting Cuties plush toys, featuring characters like Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile.

Speaking of which, it’s worth noting that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is among the Nintendo games now available on Amazon, following the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 console. Excitingly, Switch 2 owners can also preorder Donkey Kong Bananza, as well as the Switch 2 Editions of Super Mario Party Jamboree and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Key Features

In the follow-up to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, gamers revisit Kalos, home of Pokemon X and Y from Gen 6 on the 3DS. Unlike the open countryside and wilderness of Arceus, the urban environment of Lumiose City offers a contrasting pace. To start your adventure, you’ll be partnered with either Chikorita, Totodile, or Tepig. The efficient catching mechanism from Arceus will make a comeback, allowing you to catch wild Pokemon without having to fight them first before throwing a Poke Ball.

As an enthusiastic fan, I’m thrilled about another unique twist Z-A brings: the combat system. Stepping away from the classic turn-based fights we’ve seen in Arceus and the main series, this game introduces a dynamic real-time strategy. In the heat of battles, you and your partner Pokemon can maneuver around, providing a sense of freedom within a defined area. The art of positioning and timing will significantly influence your performance on the battlefield. Precise movement during attacks and swift dodges to dodge incoming blows will be key to your success!

In simple terms, when you’re back at Arecus, several useful functions come back, such as the option to launch Poke Balls without triggering battles right away – this makes it easier and quicker for you to collect all Pokémon.

In addition to the fresh updates and revamps, an old favorite feature is set to reappear after quite some time. The Mega Evolutions, last seen in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee back in 2018, will provide a short-term boost to your companion Pokémon, transforming them into highly potent versions of themselves. Keep in mind that only specific Pokémon species can undergo Mega Evolution, and you’ll require a Mega Ring and a unique Mega Stone to trigger it. This transformation not only enhances their power but also changes their appearance.

In the trailers we’ve watched, a number of Pokemon have been shown undergoing Mega Evolution, such as Lucario, Ampharos, and Kangaskhan. Mega Evolutions were first presented in Pokemon X and Y, making it exciting that this return journey to Kalos will also feature them.

On July 22nd, the upcoming Pokemon Presents event hosted by The Pokemon Company is set to occur. It’s expected that we’ll get a closer look at Z-A during this live stream.
