A pub manager in Aberdeen, Scotland, who runs an alcohol-free establishment, was found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol. He crashed his car and was found to have more than four times the legally allowed amount of alcohol in his system.
Hayden Geraghty, a 33-year-old bar manager from Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to an offense committed on March 7th. As a result, he received a one-year driving ban and was ordered to pay a £520 fine (approximately $700).
Geraghty was accused of driving with a very high level of alcohol in his system – 99 micrograms per 100 milliliters of breath – which is far above the legal limit of 22 micrograms.
According to the Press and Journal, he was discovered unconscious behind the wheel of his wrecked car and had more than four times the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

After the verdict, Kate Kenyon, owner of Sobr, released a statement with Geraghty’s approval. It said that the case was a deeply personal matter for Hayden, and he recognizes the pain and harm he’s caused to both himself and his loved ones.
Kenyon said Hayden has been consistently honest and open with them about his struggles, which they value. They’ve provided both personal and professional support, and his experience highlights the importance of resources like Sobr.
The statement emphasized that statistics represent real individuals – people who are dependable at work, kind to their neighbors, and devoted parents who are always there for their children. Alcohol misuse doesn’t fit a single stereotype and affects people from all walks of life.
Kenyon stated that the bar stands with Geraghty and urges anyone battling alcohol addiction to reach out for support.
