As a child of the 80s and a lifelong music enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia upon hearing about “Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story.” Growing up, these guys were the embodiment of everything that was cool and edgy in my eyes. From their love for those iconic 70s fashions to their eclectic mix of punk, grunge, glam metal, and yes, even The Partridge Family, Redd Kross was a band that defied categorization.

EbMaster‘s reviewer, Jem Aswad, considered the ban as forward-thinking, stating, “It appears ludicrous to suggest now that their open admiration for those flamboyant styles, The Partridge Family, Mackenzie Phillips and other cultural icons from their youth was visionary (in a comparative sense), but the extraordinary documentary ‘Born Innocent’ demonstrates they were more forward-thinking than previously believed. Bands like Black Flag, Nirvana, and those from the indie and Seattle scenes, as well as Guns N’ Roses and Stone Temple Pilots, all followed their path.
In October, the band Redd Kross will release a book titled “Now You’re One of Us: The Extraordinary Tale of Redd Kross.” The book, co-authored with music journalist Dan Epstein, is set to be available in the U.K. on October 10 and in North America on October 29.
