Though the release date for Borderlands 4 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) was announced months ago, fans of the game on Nintendo Switch 2 have been eagerly awaiting news about its launch on the new console. Today, Randy Pitchford from Gearbox Entertainment confirmed that Borderlands 4 will be available for Nintendo Switch 2 just three weeks from now, on October 3. At this point, additional details about the port, such as technical specifications and whether it will come with a physical release on a Game Key Card or a traditional cartridge, have not yet been disclosed.
Today’s news confirms that Claptrap is indeed coming back in Borderlands 4, which was previously verified last week. As for now, it’s unclear whether the audio settings for Claptrap’s dialogue will be customizable in the Nintendo Switch 2 version, similar to other versions. The release date for Borderlands 4 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC is September 12. The Nintendo Switch 2 version, however, will follow about three weeks later on October 3.
