Bodycam footage of YouTuber PopularMMOs’ arrest released as police issue new warrant

The publicly-released police body camera video showcases the arrest of well-known YouTube personality, PopularMMOs, who is currently being sought by authorities due to allegations that he breached his parole conditions.

Known as PopularMMOs, or Patrick ‘Pat’ Julianelle in reality, is a YouTube personality boasting an impressive follower base of more than 17 million. He was well-known for consistently sharing gaming content, with a focus on Minecraft, up until the year 2023.

Six months after being recorded on body camera footage, Julianelle admitted guilt for attacking a police officer on November 20, 2024. The video evidence of this incident is now accessible to the general public.

In a video uploaded by YouTube channel EWU Bodycam on May 28, 2025, Julianelle was spotted napping on the sidewalk, with a street lamp overhead. Officers arrived at the scene after responding to a call for a wellness check.

That evening, the 35-year-old YouTube personality confessed he’d consumed too much alcohol and expressed regret to the police for causing them inconvenience. Recognizing he was far from home, they advised him to contact a friend for pickup since they were over 20 minutes away from his listed residence.

The officers permitted him to wait inside their police car to escape the cold 45-degree weather while his phone was charging. This provided them with an opportunity to inspect his backpack. Inside, they found marijuana and a large amount of Fireball. It’s important to note that recreational use of marijuana is prohibited in the state of Florida where this incident took place.

When asked about the jar of marijuana, Pat responded that he would need to consult his attorney first, stressing that he was too intoxicated to give a clear response and asserting that he didn’t partake in smoking it. The officers then tried to arrest him, which caused the YouTuber to become agitated.

Julianelle made an attempt to leave the area, expressing his exhaustion with the situation as law enforcement quickly arrested him. They pointed out that he reacted with violence during the arrest process.

Upon the sergeant’s arrival to investigate, it was decided that charges for violent resistance and unlawful possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana would be filed against him. In a light-hearted moment, the sarge quipped, “He can Minecraft his way out of this!

Following the acceptance of a plea bargain in November 2024, Pat was given a sentence of 12 months probation, 100 hours of community service, a compulsory substance abuse evaluation, and subsequent treatment, according to court documents obtained by EWU Bodycam.

Additionally, the YouTuber was instructed to make a charitable donation of $1,000 to the Police Memorial Foundation and pen an apology letter to the police officer he had attacked during his apprehension.

In February 2025, Pat was taken into custody due to a breach of his parole terms, following a drug test on urine samples collected in December 2024 that revealed evidence of illegal substance use.

On May 12, 2025, a warrant was served for his arrest because he tested positive for marijuana and alcohol in a drug test, which led to another breach of his probation terms.

On several occasions, Julianelle has found herself in legal trouble. In fact, back in 2022, an incident occurred at a Jacksonville Jaguars football game where Pat and two companions were apprehended after one of them invaded the playing field. Previously, in 2021, he was detained for allegedly committing domestic battery; however, this charge was eventually dismissed.
