Bob Dylan Biopic ‘A Complete Unknown,’ Starring Timothée Chalamet, Sets Christmas Release Date

As an ardent admirer of the rich tapestry that is American music history, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown.” The prospect of Timothée Chalamet portraying the enigmatic legend, backed by a stellar cast including Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, and Monica Barbaro, promises an unparalleled cinematic experience.

The upcoming movie about Bob Dylan’s life, titled “A Complete Unknown,” featuring Timothée Chalamet portraying the renowned artist, is set to premiere in cinemas on December 24th. It’s slated for release on that date.

As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that three exciting films are set to hit the screens soon. “A Compete Unknown” will make its debut on the same day as Robert Eggers’ remake of the classic horror tale, “Nosferatu.” A week later, Disney’s captivating reimagining, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” will grace our cinemas. Can’t wait for these incredible premieres!

“Director James Mangold, famous for ‘Walk the Line’, has taken on a new project titled ‘A Complete Unknown’. This film delves into the life of Dylan, set in New York during the early 1960s. As an intriguing 19-year-old from Minnesota enters the West Village, he stirs up a commotion in the folk community by using electric guitars. The recently released trailer, premiered in July, offers a sneak peek at Chalamet, who sings his own parts, passionately performing ‘A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall’. Notable locations like Cafe Wha and Hotel Chelsea are also featured in the film where Dylan is known to frequent.”

In 2015, the screenplay for the film was developed from Elijah Wald’s book “Dylan Goes Electric,” with its title inspired by Dylan’s famous folk rock song “Like a Rolling Stone.” Although the actual Dylan, who is now 83 years old, isn’t part of the movie production, he did provide feedback on the script and met with director Mangold several times.

“For several delightful days this past summer, I had the pleasure of spending time with him privately, conversing with him. A script that he himself annotated is something I cherish greatly.”

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that the captivating film “A Complete Unknown” brings together an extraordinary ensemble. I find myself in the shoes of Edward Norton portraying Pete Seeger, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro stepping into the role of Joan Baez, Boyd Holbrook embodies Johnny Cash, Dan Fogler takes on Albert Grossman, and Scoot McNairy breathes life into Woody Guthrie. What a star-studded lineup!

Searchlight Pictures is financing the production of the movie. Chalamet, Mangold, Fred Berger, Alex Heineman, Peter Jaysen, Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Jeff Rosen are all involved in producing it.
