BNB Chain’s Broccoli Token Battle: Outrage Erupts Over Controversial Results!

“Broccoli Brouhaha: A Tale of Two Tokens and a Whole Lot of Drama”

Good sir, gather ’round and listen well, for I have a tale to tell of the most absurd and ridiculous sort. ‘Tis a story of two tokens, both bearing the name Broccoli, and the great drama that ensued when one was declared the winner and the other, well, not so much.

In the esteemed BNB Chain, a program of great importance was underway, wherein the top-performing memecoins would be awarded a sum of $200,000 in permanent liquidity. Ah, but alas, the competition was fierce, and the stakes were high. Two tokens, both inspired by the esteemed Changpeng Zhao’s canine companion, Broccoli, went head-to-head in a battle for supremacy.

And so, the day of reckoning arrived, and the winner was declared to be the Broccoli token ending in address “714”. But, dear reader, the supporters of the F2B token were not pleased. They claimed that the result was nothing short of a travesty, and that the score did not, in fact, add up.

F2B Broccoli community investigation questions score

According to the official leaderboard, both tokens earned a daily score of 5.7, a number so precise, it beggars the imagination. But, the F2B community, being the diligent and inquisitive sorts that they are, decided to investigate further.

They pored over the back-end data, and what did they find? Why, the F2B token, with a token symbol in all caps, ranked first in its calculated daily score! Ah, but alas, the 714 Broccoli token, with a daily score of 5.700000000000001, ranked second.

The F2B community, not one to be deterred, attempted to calculate the scores themselves, using the formula cited by BNB Chain in a Feb. 14 blog post. And, lo and behold, they found that F2B had a clear edge, with a score of 5.5 points compared to 714’s 5.9 points.

BNB Chain claims score is legit

But, dear reader, the BNB Chain was not about to let the F2B community get the better of them. They responded to the community’s inquiry, saying that the calculations relied on deprecated metrics. Ah, but what did they mean by that?

It seems, dear reader, that the BNB Chain had updated their scoring formula, and the community’s calculations were based on an outdated version. The new formula, they claimed, used “init_price_change_rank”, “market_cap_rank”, and “acc_volume_rank”, whereas the community’s calculation relied on the deprecated “percent_change_24h_rank” and “volume_24h_rank”.

  • init_price_change_rank

  • market_cap_rank

  • acc_volume_rank

And so, the BNB Chain claimed that the official tie-breaker (volume rank) was valid, and that the 714 Broccoli token deserved the crown. But, dear reader, the F2B community remains unconvinced, arguing that the rules lacked transparency and shifted mid-competition.
