Blumhouse Is Invading The Hotel That Inspired The Shining For An Immersive Horror Experience

As a seasoned gamer and horror enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a rush of excitement at the prospect of the Overnightmare experience at the Stanley Hotel! Ever since I first read The Shining and played the iconic video game adaptation, I’ve been captivated by Stephen King’s chilling tale.

50 years back, Stephen King’s visit to the Stanley Hotel sparked the creation of his book “The Shining.” Now, in the current year, the Stanley Hotel has introduced an Overnightmare experience for its guests, which is jointly sponsored by Blumhouse and Peacock.

Between October 18th and October 20th, movie enthusiasts eager to visit Estes Park, Colorado have the opportunity to reserve a Blumhouse-themed weekend. This unique experience offers interactive activities inspired by four of the studio’s movies: Insidious, The Purge, Freaky, and Happy Death Day. As per the official details, guests will have access to a “concierge of scares” upon check-in for a two-night stay in a room specially redecorated for the event.

Besides a “frightening encounter,” the hotel is also providing photo chances, interactive experiences, free showings of Blumhouse films and the upcoming Peacock original series, Teacup, along with a complimentary welcome meal, two free drinks per guest, and a $100 voucher towards their in-house restaurant, Brunch & Co.

For further details regarding reserving the experience, please visit the official website of The Stanley Hotel. If you’re hoping for a Shining-inspired event, mark your calendars for the Shining Ball taking place at The Stanley Hotel on October 26.
