Blue Prince Just Got A Significant Update, But Don’t Expect Any DLC

Today, Dogubomb and Raw Fury unveiled Update 1.04.5 for the puzzle game, Blue Prince. Despite being one of the most acclaimed indie games in 2025, its director, Tonda Ros, shared on Steam that there won’t be any additional DLC or new content for Blue Prince after the upcoming update.

In a nutshell, the game titled “Blue Prince” is a captivating blend of roguelike mechanics and puzzle-solving, where players delve into a mansion once owned by their distant relative. The objective is to uncover a secret 46th room. Each night, the mansion undergoes alterations, necessitating the creation of new blueprints for exploration each morning. The game’s unique structure and intellectually challenging puzzles have garnered praise from critics, positioning “Blue Prince” as one of the top-rated games in 2025.

One significant enhancement made in Patch 1.04.5 is rectifying a problem where saves would revert on PS5, leading to some players losing their game progress. Additionally, other issues that obstructed player advancement or created softlocks were addressed in this update. Furthermore, the language used for certain late-game puzzles has been revised for better understanding. A glimpse of what lies beyond the current update has been hinted at, but it’s important to keep anticipation in check. It’s been confirmed that Patch 1.10 marks the end of content updates for Blue Prince. This upcoming patch will bring enhancements such as color-assist mode, controller customization, widescreen compatibility, fresh cinematics, UI and UX refinements, enigmatic additions like an anticipated arcade game and a mysterious house cat, among others. Following this, any future updates for Blue Prince will primarily focus on squashing bugs.

From the beginning, my ambition was to launch a complete, polished version of the game. As someone who appreciates self-contained experiences, I never intended to regularly modify the game with new content, rebalancing rooms, or DLCs. Ros elaborated. Since this is my debut project, I am immensely proud of everything that made it to launch, but there are minor details that were incomplete before our release date which I believe are essential for realizing the original concept. These additions will be included in Update 1.10, marking the final major overhaul of the game. This update will offer a refined, definitive version of the game.

In the upcoming months, Patch 1.10 for the Blue Prince will be released, making the game fully content-rich. This means you can start playing without worrying about future DLC or major content upgrades. The Blue Prince is playable on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it’s included in the Game Pass Ultimate and PS Plus Extra libraries of games.
