‘Blue Bloods’ Spinoff ‘Boston Blue’ Casts Ernie Hudson

Actor Ernie Hudson will be part of the main cast for “Boston Blue,” the new spin-off of “Blue Bloods” on CBS.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’d put it this way: In a new twist, I find myself stepping into the shoes of Detective Danny Reagan from “Blue Bloods,” as I’m transported to Boston where I team up with Detective Lena Silver, the eldest scion of a renowned law enforcement dynasty.

In this role, Hudson will portray Reverend Peters, a highly respected pastor from an old Baptist church in Boston. Known for his inclusive nature and ease with various religious practices, he gracefully leads his congregation during their regular Sunday services. Notably, Reverend Peters is the father of Mae Silver, Boston’s district attorney, as well as the grandfather of detective Lena Silver, superintendent Ashley Silver, and new police officer Isaac Silver.

CBS Studios is teaming up with JBTV to create the TV series “Boston Blue”. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis are in charge of the show, while they’re also joined by Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Wahlberg as executive producers. This series will be distributed worldwide by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

During a recent CBS press conference in Los Angeles, where her role within the Silvers family was revealed, Sonequa Martin-Green expressed, “For such a long time, we’ve adored the Reagans. But I believe the Silvers will earn our affection as well.

Wahlberg remarked, “Across the nation, countless law enforcement families exist. It’s not just about the Reagans; they can be found in every state, city, town, and even the smallest communities. There are other families with compelling tales to share as well. Danny’s story will serve as a continuation of the Reagan family narrative. However, we will also delve into a new family’s story, keeping alive the tradition of sharing their experiences.
