Bloodborne Is Receiving An R-Rated Animated Film

Get ready to return to Yharnam! Sony is creating a Bloodborne movie, and it will be a visually striking, R-rated animated film that stays true to the dark and intense atmosphere of the original game.

Many fans consider Bloodborne to be FromSoftware’s best game, successfully blending the challenging gameplay of the Dark Souls series with a dark, gothic world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, and making it faster-paced. However, despite its popularity, the game feels somewhat overlooked. This is largely because Sony, who published the game, kept it exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and hasn’t even released a simple updated version for the PlayStation 5.

After a long wait, Bloodborne is coming back – as a movie! Variety reports the new adaptation will be animated, unlike the live-action Elden Ring film. And, just like the game, it’s expected to be packed with intense action and violence.

Bloodborne Is Being Turned Into An Animated Movie

Bloodborne is an R-rated animated movie currently in production by PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and JackSepticEye (Seán McLoughlin). The filmmakers promise the movie will stay true to the intense violence of the original video game, ensuring it earns its R rating.

We don’t have many details about the upcoming Bloodborne movie yet, and it’s just been announced, so more information will take time. Like the Sekiro TV show, it seems the movie will be a retelling of the game’s story, not a continuation or a prequel.

Bloodborne is an animated movie with mature content, currently in production by PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and popular online creator JackSepticEye (Seán McLoughlin).

The announcement of a Bloodborne movie has fans thrilled, mainly because it signals that the series isn’t finished. At the very least, it’s likely to push Sony and FromSoftware to develop a remastered or remade version of the game to release alongside the film.
