Bloodborne animated movie in the works with Jacksepticeye attached

A mature, animated movie based on the video game Bloodborne is being made, and popular YouTuber Jacksepticeye will be a producer on the project.

After eleven years as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, the popular video game Bloodborne is getting a new adaptation – an animated movie. Fans shouldn’t expect a graphical update or a re-release of the game itself, but a brand new film instead.

Sony revealed plans for a new animated movie at CinemaCon 2026. Although specifics are still under wraps, they’ve confirmed it will be rated R, meaning it won’t shy away from mature content.

Popular online creator Jacksepticeye is now a producer on the upcoming Bloodborne movie, partnering with Sony to help make it a reality.

As of now, we don’t know which animation studio will work on the movie, or what the story will be about. It might directly follow the game’s plot, or it could be a new story taking place either before or after the original game’s events.

Even though Elden Ring came out over ten years ago and is now considered the best in the genre, Bloodborne is still incredibly popular. It consistently ranks as one of the greatest games ever made, and for good reason.

Originally a PlayStation 4 exclusive, the challenging game from FromSoftware took players to Yharnam, a dark, Gothic city gripped by a strange disease. As citizens transformed into terrifying monsters, players had to uncover the source of the plague and attempt to find a cure for the city’s supernatural horrors.

The game has sold over nine million copies and is a beloved title from renowned director Hidetaka Miyazaki. Despite its success, players have long hoped for a version that runs at 60 frames per second, or a release on newer gaming systems.
