If you’ve been laughing and having fun with the “Totally Normalwatch” feature in Overwatch 2 during this year’s April celebrations, then you’re aware it offers plenty of humor, unexpected moments, and fantastic skidding instances (a nod to Reinhardt). However, it seems some adjustments were required – Blizzard has recently released a fix to balance out the overpowered characters in this mode.
Echo and Ball Hotfix Arrives for Overwatch 2’s “Totally Normalwatch” Game Mode
If you’ve been enjoying the “Totally Normalwatch” game mode in Overwatch 2, you might have found the revamped hero lineup to be incredibly fun, but some of those zany adjustments ended up being too powerful. Among these two heroes that stood out as overpowered were Echo and Wrecking Ball. Fortunately, Blizzard has made changes to both characters in a recent update.
If you’re searching for an ordinary Overwatch 2 game, I’m afraid you’ve landed in the wrong spot! However, if you’re open to some excitement or chaos, dive right into our Normalwatch mode until April 14 and have a blast 🎉

Currently, Echo can fly indefinitely with an air dash, while her primary and secondary abilities have been reversed. Simultaneously, Ball has been reduced by 50% in size but deals more damage to a wider area. Consequently, these alterations have significantly boosted the power of both characters, potentially making them overly powerful.
To help balance things out, Blizzard has applied the following nerfs:
Wrecking Ball
- Health: 425 → 350
- Bonus Health from Roll Impacts: 25 → 20
Echo
- Fire rate reduced by 30%
- Explosion Damage: 14 → 12
Absolutely, Totally Normalwatch is designed to celebrate the absurd with excessive powers, but it’s evident that these two characters were in charge – even more so when played by experienced users of their initial kits. Here’s hoping these modifications make Echo and Wrecking Ball a bit easier to handle without losing their inherent wildness.
