As someone who has had a close call with a head injury during a skiing accident, I can attest to the importance of always wearing a helmet and seeking immediate medical attention if you suspect any kind of head trauma. In my case, after a fall on the slopes, I was fortunate enough to have been wearing a helmet, which likely saved me from serious harm. A prompt check-up by ski patrol confirmed that I didn’t have a concussion, but they suggested I get a CAT scan at the hospital just to be safe. I can’t stress enough how important it is to listen to medical professionals in these situations, as the CAT scan ended up revealing an internal injury that could have potentially been life-threatening if left untreated.
