A visually impaired individual has taken legal action against the brand, Prime Hydration, co-owned by Logan Paul and KSI, due to difficulties they’ve encountered related to accessibility because of their visual disability.
From the moment it hit the market in 2022, Prime Hydration has rapidly grown to become a top-tier choice for sports drinks across the U.S.
Logan Paul and KSI have journeyed around the globe endorsing this beverage, and a year following the brand’s establishment, they introduced a matching energy drink as well.
In addition to dealing with legal issues concerning its brand name and container design from both consumers and rival companies, the most recent lawsuit against Prime doesn’t pertain to the beverage itself.
Prime Hydration sued over website accessibility issues
On March 19, 2025, a new legal action was initiated against Prime Hydration by Edery Hererra, who claims that the drink company, which is led by influencers, has breached The Americans with Disabilities Act.
In the lawsuit, the person suing (Plaintiff) is asserting their civil rights claim against PRIME HYDRATION LLC (Defendant or Drink Prime). The Defendant allegedly failed to create, build, maintain, and manage their interactive website in a way that it can be effortlessly used by blind or visually-impaired individuals, including the Plaintiff, according to the complaint.
The Defendant’s refusal to provide equal access to their website, which prevents the use of their products and services for people with disabilities, goes against the rights guaranteed by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The legal action alleges that the company’s inaction to adapt the Prime Hydration website for use with screen reader software unfairly denies access to their online products for visually impaired individuals, thus increasing feelings of isolation among those with vision problems.
In addition to the recent lawsuit Herrera has brought forth, they have also initiated four more legal actions in federal courts during the month of March this year. As reported by law office Barclay Damon, these cases are part of a larger group that has filed approximately 330 website accessibility lawsuits as of September 2024.
2024 saw the first legal action taken against Prime Hydration, following a lawsuit filed by Herrera in October. This was preceded by a suit from Messi’s beverage company, Mark Anthony International, back in October 2024, accusing Prime of anti-competitive practices.
