Blake Lively Calls Out ‘Lowest Lows in My Life’ Amid Justin Baldoni Legal Battle: ‘I See So Many Women Afraid to Speak.’ Fear ‘Keeps Us Silent’

Blake Lively recently graced “Late Night With Seth Meyers” to discuss the upcoming Prime Video release, “Another Simple Favor”. During the chat, there was a reference to her recent challenging period, hinting at her ongoing legal dispute with director and co-star Justin Baldoni from “It Ends With Us”. Although Lively didn’t delve into details, she did acknowledge that this year has encompassed both the greatest triumphs and the deepest lows in her personal life.

Lively expressed that this year has been a rollercoaster ride, with moments of extreme joy and deep sorrow for her personally. She noted that she sees many women hesitant to express themselves, particularly at present, due to fear, which is intentionally instilled to keep us quiet.

The actor also admitted that many individuals lack the chance to express themselves,” he continued. “However, I consider myself fortunate to have been able to do so, and it’s the empowered voices of women that have given me strength and supported my convictions in striving for a safer world for women and girls. This may seem straightforward.

According to earlier reports by EbMaster, Lively submitted a letter to the California Civil Rights Department in December, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment during the filming of “It Ends With Us.” The letter also contained claims that Baldoni launched a 2024 defamation campaign against Lively, which coincided with and continued during the movie’s cinema debut. These allegations formed the basis for a New York Times report, sparking a series of legal exchanges between Baldoni and the actor.

On New Year’s Eve, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against The New York Times for $250 million, claiming libel over their first article about Lively’s accusations. Later, Lively sued Baldoni, alleging that he had broken federal and California state law by retaliating against her for reporting sexual harassment and workplace safety issues. Subsequently, Baldoni filed another lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million, accusing them of civil extortion, defamation, and other offenses.

In Baldoni’s lawsuit, Reynolds was charged with making fun of and harassing Baldoni through his character Nicepool in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The satire targeted Baldoni’s portrayal as a ‘woke feminist.’ Last month, Reynolds submitted a motion to dismiss the case. Similarly, Lively also filed a motion last month to disregard Baldoni’s $400 million defamation lawsuit against her, stating that it was retaliation for her initial sexual harassment claim.
