It’s been 21 years since Black and White 2 came out, and a new sequel seems highly unlikely. However, the game’s fanbase keeps the spirit of the series alive. A great example of this is Black & White 2 Plus, a fan-created project that has just released its final version.
This mod significantly improves and expands the game, bringing back content the developers originally intended, alongside completely new additions. It adds new campaign missions, more territories, a wider variety of units, buildings, and magical creatures, and resolves almost all technical issues. The amount of new content is so substantial it feels like a whole new game.
Version 1.8 of the mod is now available! It includes a new map, more in-depth campaign conversations, improved final bosses, and a lot of bug fixes. This is the final planned update for the current version, but the mod author is already hard at work on a large, fan-made expansion called Elementals.
