Letitia Wright, who plays a leading role in Black Panther, has given a strong indication of what the next installment of the movie might look like when it’s released.
According to a post by @QuidVacuo on X, Michael B. Jordan recently shared the cover art for Black Panther: Doomwar. This 2017 comic, written by Reginald Hudlin and Jonathan Maberry, involved a large-scale crossover with Marvel’s top superhero teams. Interestingly, the image Jordan shared included Doctor Doom, which has led fans to speculate that he might be hinting at the storyline for Avengers: Doomsday.
According to Marvel Comics, Black Panther: Doomwar tells the story of a new Black Panther trying to keep Wakanda united while facing treachery. This leads to a showdown with the formidable Doctor Doom! When Doom succeeds, a war erupts in Wakanda, pitting him against a team of Earth’s mightiest heroes. With Storm’s life hanging in the balance, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and two Black Panthers must join forces to stop him. As T’Challa returns to his kingdom, the story also asks if Shuri will remain queen long enough to confront her enemy, Klaw, the master of sound.
What Can Fans Expect From Avengers: Doomsday?
Following Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Doomsday is the next big team-up movie featuring the Avengers. The film will expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe by connecting established characters with new villains, and it will notably bring Robert Downey Jr. back to the MCU – this time as Doctor Doom. This will be a major crossover event exploring the multiverse.
Based on recent hints, the fact that artist Alex Ross shared artwork from Black Panther: Doomwar might give us clues about the plot of Avengers: Doomsday or how the events of Avengers: Doomsday will affect Black Panther 3. Like Black Panther: Doomwar, which brings together various Marvel heroes and teams, Avengers: Doomsday is expected to feature The Fantastic Four, characters from Wakanda, and the Avengers. The movie is also likely to have unexpected twists and explore the complexities of the multiverse when it’s released.
While the exact story is still a secret, fans are hoping the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will offer a good look at what’s in store – and prove that J. Michael Wright’s predictions were accurate all along.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on Dec. 18., 2026.
