As a seasoned gamer who’s been through numerous Call of Duty iterations and prestige races, I can’t stress enough the importance of thinking twice before hitting that ‘Prestige’ button in Black Ops 6. My life experience tells me that prestiging means starting from scratch, but now, with the integration of Warzone, it’s more than just multiplayer frustration.
Before you reach max level in Black Ops 6, consider reconsidering. It seems that starting over with your level could have significant, perhaps unexpected, effects – for instance, it may impact your Warzone gameplay since the games are now interconnected.
In Black Ops 6, Call of Duty has reverted back to its traditional style. Unlike more contemporary games that feature seasonal prestige systems, Treyarch’s latest offering allows players to reach the highest level, prestige, and then do it all over again up to ten times – much like the old days.
Of course, with the comeback of the traditional status system, there was a surge in participants aiming to reach the highest level first. However, if you’re joining the competition and moving up the ladder, it would be wise to consider carefully when you decide to restart.
Advancing to a higher status level wipes out your progress. This implies that you’ll begin anew at level 1, needing to reacquire weapons, add-ons, and gear from the very start. Consequently, this significantly alters your multiplayer gameplay, and it also affects Warzone in the same way.
heads up: if you’re currently Prestiging in Black Ops 6 and plan on playing Warzone:
Your Prestige level transfers over to Warzone, and it decides what you have access to. If you’ve just started a new Prestige, you will need to level up again to utilize all items in Warzone.

In a notable development, Warzone is merging with Black Ops 6, which means your multiplayer level progress now translates to the Battle Royale mode. Many players might not realize this, but it’s crucial to exercise caution when advancing to a new prestige level in this context.
Starting a fresh prestige now would place you at a disadvantage in the upcoming Season 1 of the new Warzone map, as you’d essentially be starting from scratch with minimal equipment. You won’t have any gear from the influential Black Ops 6 arsenal at your disposal initially, and you’ll need to work your way back up again to unlock even the most fundamental Warzone items.
In simpler terms, take some time to get used to the new Area 99 BR map before jumping into a fresh prestige. Once you’re comfortable and can handle the gameplay more effectively, then it would be a better idea to start over from the beginning.
If you’re at all curious about playing Warzone, it’s essential to bear in mind that this update may not affect everyone, but it’s particularly relevant for multiplayer and Zombies enthusiasts.
