As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of Call of Duty under my belt, I must say that Treyarch’s latest tweak to the scorestreaks in Black Ops 6 has left me somewhat disgruntled, to put it mildly. The UAV and Counter UAV streaks have been a staple of CoD multiplayer since time immemorial, and their stealth nerfing is causing quite a stir among the community.
6-player community members of Black Ops have voiced criticism over a covert adjustment affecting some of their preferred scorestreaks within the game, asking Treyarch to undo certain changes.
Over the past few weeks, Call of Duty enthusiasts have been raving about Black Ops 6, which has received generally positive reviews. Standouts include the innovative omnimovement system and the single-player campaign, although multiplayer has experienced some unexpected issues.
Following our first release, we’ve implemented several upgrades, some of which include major overhauls like Season 1, while others are minor adjustments known as hotfixes. Additionally, we’ve integrated it with Warzone, although the process hasn’t gone quite as expected by fans.
Those changes have changed the game in some good ways and, of course, some negative ways as well.
In Call of Duty (COD), a recent adjustment affecting popular Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Counter UAVs has led to some issues. These features, frequently seen in past COD games, have had their experience point (XP) rewards reduced in Black Ops 6. Instead of earning 15 XP for calling one, you now only receive 5 XP.
User General_Khanners lamented that Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (CUAVs) have undergone numerous stealthy adjustments, making the experience frustrating. He pointed out that the flying time has been significantly reduced, and they only contribute 5 points to a team’s score, meaning it is more beneficial for an enemy team if they manage to shoot down these UAVs rather than if he calls them in for his own team.
Many other spectators also concurred. “The scoring streak system is just plain foolish, and I can’t stand it,” one person said. “Last night, I noticed the decrease in score, which was quite disappointing. Before, you could summon a UAV/CUAV and reap the assists, leading all the way to the care package,” another fan pointed out.
Originally, I operated unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), conventional UAVs (CUAV), or High-Altitude Research Platforms (HARP). It’s not often discussed, but the HARP had its power reduced significantly, from higher levels to only +5. To me, reducing the power of something like the HARP seems hard to comprehend. Another individual echoed this sentiment.
Some supporters contend that the UAV is excessively powerful and should be weakened slightly. On the other hand, others are skeptical about Treyarch’s efforts to decrease Experience Points (XP).
Many players, particularly those concentrating on goals, have expressed frustration about the XP grinding process, finding it tedious. It seems likely that Treyarch may soon need to make some adjustments.
