In the heart of the gaming world, as I count down the final hours of Early Access for Black Ops 6, the battlefield dynamics are becoming clearer. Among the Submachine Guns (SMGs), the Jackal PDW has undeniably proven itself as a go-to weapon. However, an exciting newcomer is stirring things up in this ever-evolving meta landscape.
In various aspects, the Jackal’s supremacy is complex, but there’s increasing debate about whether the C9 could be a strong competitor. Let’s dive deeper and understand why some gamers are gradually shifting their preference from the Jackal PDW to the C9 in Black Ops 6.
The C9 Challenges the Jackal PDW as the Best SMG in Black Ops 6
In a recent video, Call of Duty legend Scump showcased an impressive build for the Jackal PDW Submachine Gun, which explains why it’s such a formidable weapon. The video features Scump racking up over 100 kills, and while his skills are undeniably key, the gun’s effectiveness is underscored by its rapid lethality, as evidenced by its impressive Time-to-Kill (TTK).

On the r/blackops6 Subreddit, user OryxisDaddy_ shared a screenshot of a ranking list for the weapons with the fastest time-to-kill in the beta. Interestingly, the C9 is ranked first, boasting a time-to-kill (TTK) of 246 milliseconds that quickens further with Rapid Fire attachment. In contrast, the Jackal has a TTK of 264 milliseconds because of its slower overall firing rate.
The Jackal stays ahead in competition due to its quicker ability to accelerate and aim quickly, making it superior in both short and medium-distance battles. Conversely, the C9 struggles with damage reduction beyond 25 meters, performing optimally only in close combat situations, while the Jackal performs consistently well over greater distances.
Although these weapons exhibit distinct characteristics, a significant number of enthusiasts have expressed a strong preference towards the C9. One fan commented, “Keep it under wraps that the C9 outperforms the Jackal PDW in close combat,” and another asserted, “The Jackal’s days are numbered; the C9 is the superior choice.”
It’s clear why these Submachine Guns (SMGs) pack such a punch, given that developers have hinted at a quicker Time to Kill (TTK) in Black Ops 6 compared to Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops Cold War. With the introduction of Omnimovement, swift reflexes and the knack for rapidly targeting enemies become even more vital. As a result, these SMGs are perfectly tailored to the fast-paced gameplay of Black Ops 6.
In the end, it’s up to you to decide which weapon suits you best, but for now, the Jackal PDW seems to have a slight advantage due to its combination of speed and range.
