In November last year, it was exclusively revealed by EbMaster that Netflix was planning a seventh season for the series “Black Mirror”, with filming scheduled for later in the same year.
In June 2023, following a four-year break, Season 6 of Charlie Brooker’s popular sci-fi anthology series was released on Netflix. The streaming service reported that it garnered 11.3 million views within its initial four days of release.
As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement about the sixth season that unfolded with an impressive ensemble cast such as Aaron Paul, Annie Murphy, Himesh Patel, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, and Zazie Beetz, just to name a few. This season was packed with five captivating episodes, each unique in its own way: “Joan Is Awful,” delving into the realm of AI-generated TV shows; “Loch Henry,” immersing us in a true-crime thriller where filmmakers found themselves unwittingly entangled; “Beyond the Sea,” offering a sci-fi twist with body-swapping tales; “Mazey Day,” sending chills down our spines with its horrifying exploration of paparazzi culture; and “Demon 79,” introducing the supernatural element into the “Red Mirror” series for the first time.
The show ‘Black Mirror’ debuted on Channel 4 in the U.K. in December 2011, and Netflix acquired it before Season 3 in 2016. During a break between Seasons 5 and 6, the series received a total of 14 Emmy nominations and won eight, including for ‘San Junipero,’ ‘USS Callister,’ and ‘Bandersnatch’ in 2017, 2018, and 2019 respectively.
