So, Prenetics Global Limited (NASDAQ: PRE) is the latest healthcare company to jump on the Bitcoin bandwagon, following in the footsteps of MicroStrategy’s $40 billion strategy. Because, you know, why not invest in digital currency when you could be investing in actual healthcare? 🤷‍♂️

There’s a whole wave of companies out there hoarding Bitcoin like it’s the new gold. And here’s Prenetics, with their little $20 million investment, trying to play in the big leagues. Cute, right?

Sure, it’s a drop in the bucket compared to the hundreds of millions others are throwing around, but hey, they’ve got board approval to ramp it up. They want to be the biggest healthcare Bitcoin holders. Ambitious! Or just a little delusional? 🤔

“What excites me most is not just Bitcoin as a treasury asset, but the convergence we’re witnessing between healthcare innovation and blockchain technology,” said Danny Yeung, CEO of Prenetics. Translation: “We’re trying to sound smart while we gamble on Bitcoin!”

And just this week, H100 Group from Sweden announced a whopping 750 million kronor ($79 million) deal to support their own Bitcoin strategy. Because if you’re not in Bitcoin, are you even in business? 😅

Oh, and Prenetics also decided to bring in Andy Cheung, former COO of OKEx, to their Board of Directors. Because nothing says “we’re serious” like hiring someone from a crypto exchange. What could possibly go wrong? 🙄
