BioWare Hasn’t Called Jennifer Hale For Mass Effect 5 Yet, But She’d Do It “Anytime”

Jennifer Hale is a prolific voice actress, but she’s best known for playing Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect video games. Although a new Mass Effect game is in the works, BioWare hasn’t yet asked her to return, she’s eager to reprise the role if they do.

IGN recently asked Jennifer Hale in an October 24th interview if she would reprise her role as FemShep, or if she’d be interested in playing new characters in the next Mass Effect game. Her response was brief and enthusiastic.

“Anyone,” she said. “I love that universe. I’m ready. Anytime.”

She’s a huge fan of the Mass Effect series! She’s excited about the upcoming TV show and would love to be a part of it. She often shares her favorite lines from the games – one particularly funny one is from Mass Effect 2. While she hopes the original actors return for the show, she trusts BioWare to make the best decision. Because she loves both Mass Effect and the female version of Commander Shepard (FemShep), she’s encouraging fans to let BioWare know they want her to reprise her role.

She explained that the more people express their desires, the more likely those desires are to come true.

Look, BioWare is really the one in charge here, and thankfully, it sounds like the people who know Mass Effect are working on the next game. But, uh, reports are saying we might not see it until 2029! Honestly, that’s probably a good thing. They’ve said it’s going to be a more mature story, and they’re aiming for a less flashy, more realistic look compared to something like the new Dragon Age game. I’m okay with waiting if it means they’re doing it right.

BioWare, the game studio, is owned by EA, which was recently bought for $55 billion by a group of investors including Saudi Arabia and Jared Kushner. This deal is one of the biggest private takeovers in history, and Insider Gaming reports that it could lead to budget cuts at BioWare.
