As a cinephile who has spent countless hours delving into the complexities of human dynamics and industries, I find myself intrigued by Paramount’s upcoming oil industry series, “Landman.” With a cast that includes heavyweights like Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, and Jon Hamm, this show promises to be a captivating exploration of the West Texas oilpatch.

The leading studio, Paramount, has unveiled a fresh preview for the forthcoming oil industry show titled “Landman,” created by Taylor Sheridan.

In the trailer, Billy Bob Thornton’s character, Tommy Norris, is tasked with resolving numerous crises, some metaphorical and others literal, as he works to maintain order in the bustling West Texas oilfield on behalf of a prominent oil corporation.

Beginning November 17th, ‘Landman’ will make its premiere on Paramount+ in the US and regions where the service is accessible. On this day, two initial episodes will be available to stream, with a new episode added each week following that. The first season comprises ten episodes in total.

The series ‘Landman’ is inspired by the ‘Boomtown’ podcast produced by Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly. The show’s tagline presents it as an exploration of the contrasting worlds of oil rig workers (roughnecks) and wealthy oil tycoons (wildcat billionaires), whose actions are driving a growth so immense, it’s altering our climate, economy, and global politics.

In addition to Thornton, the lineup features Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Demi Moore. Jon Hamm is set to have a recurring role, while Andy Garcia and Michael Peña will appear as guest stars on multiple episodes.

Sheridan works together with Christian Wallace to develop this series. They both hold the title of executive producers, alongside David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Stephen Kay. Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch serve as executive producers for Imperative Entertainment, while J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt do so for Texas Monthly. Peter Feldman assumes the role of co-executive producer. The series “Landman” is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. This production is a joint effort between MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.
