Bill Hader to Develop HBO Comedy Series With ‘Barry’ Writer Duffy Boudreau (EXCLUSIVE)

According to our exclusive sources, Bill Hader and Duffy Boudreau are joining forces to create a comedic pilot script for HBO, which we’ve named EbMaster.

Title yet undisclosed, this upcoming storyline revolves around a woman living in a quaint town who harbors a momentous secret. Comedy duo Hader and Boudreau are set to collaborate as co-writers and executive producers for the project.

Currently, Hader and Boudreau are teaming up again for their newest project. These two first bonded as friends during their teenage years in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the past, they’ve collaborated on the HBO show “Barry,” where Hader played a starring role and also co-created. Boudreau served as a writer and eventually became a co-executive producer for this series. Together, they have also penned several episodes for “Documentary Now.

Apart from his work on “Big Mouth” for Netflix and “Hit-Monkey” on Hulu, Boudreau has also made significant contributions. He was recognized with an Emmy nomination for best writing in a comedy series, shared with Hader and the co-creator of “Barry,” Alec Berg, for the episode “710N” from Season 3. In terms of representation, he is associated with United Talent Agency (UTA) and Cowan DeBaets Abrahams & Sheppard.

Bill Hader played the lead role on the TV series “Barry” over the course of four seasons, which concluded in 2023. During this time, he was nominated for a total of 16 Emmys for his performances, with the show also receiving four nominations for best comedy series. In 2018 and 2019, Hader himself took home two Emmy awards for best actor in a comedy for his work on the show.
