Best Splitgate 2 Controller Settings for Aim, Sensitivity, and Movement

At last, Splitgate 2 has arrived in its open beta phase! To maximize your chances, it’s crucial to perfect your controller settings.

In games like most shooters, both movement and strategy play crucial roles. However, Splitgate 2 elevates this concept by introducing portals. By strategically placing these portals and using quick reflexes, you can traverse the map at high speeds, keeping your opponents on their toes as they try to predict your next move.

With optimal controller settings, it becomes significantly more manageable. Here’s a rundown of all the adjustments you can make to gain a substantial edge.

Taste in sensitivity can vary from person to person, but generally, a setting around 6-9 provides good results. For instance, I find 6.25 to be effective with my setup, so you might want to start there. However, adjust it up or down according to what feels most comfortable for your specific situation.

It’s beneficial to keep your deadzones at the minimum level, avoiding the issue of stick drift. This adjustment significantly enhances the controller’s responsiveness. However, if you reduce the deadzone too much, you may notice your crosshair moving on its own across the screen. Adjust it to the lowest possible setting first, then gradually increase until the stick drift disappears.

For optimal gameplay experience, an Exponential Response Curve is generally preferred by many players. However, if you prefer controls that mimic Splitgate 1, consider using a Linear response curve instead. Additionally, I found the Radial Acceleration Type to provide a smoother gaming experience personally.

If you find that the full strength of Aim Assist (1.0) is too intense for your preference, consider reducing it to 0.9 or even 0.8 instead. However, given many encounters in Splitgate 2 occur at close to mid-range distances, the stickiness of a fully powered aim assist can make gunfights seem overly simple.

Best FOV

For optimal performance in Splitgate 2, it’s advisable to set the Field of View (FOV) at 103. This wider angle provides a broader view of your surroundings, enhancing your spatial understanding and helping to minimize motion sickness that might occur with smaller FOV settings.

How to find the best controller settings

A great method for determining your ideal controller settings in Splitgate 2 is to try out a practice game against computer-controlled opponents. This relaxed environment allows you to hone your skills and experiment with various settings until you discover a setup that feels right for you.
