As a seasoned gamer with countless hours under my belt in Black Ops 6, I can confidently say that the choice of secondary weapon is more crucial than ever, and pistols should never be overlooked. With the game’s revamped system allowing for both melee and pistol equipment, these sidearms have become indispensable, especially on the smaller multiplayer maps where ammo can run out quickly.
In Black Ops 6, pistols are sometimes underestimated, but having an exceptional backup firearm can be crucial when you find yourself in a tight spot.
In Black Ops 6, they reimagined the functionality of secondary weapons. Now, each player gets a separate melee slot and can also arm themselves with a pistol. Earlier versions required players to make a choice between carrying a melee weapon and a pistol; often, due to enhanced movement advantages, it was more practical to opt for a knife.
Given that’s no longer an issue, pistols grow increasingly precious. This is particularly relevant in BO6, as the game includes numerous compact Multiplayer maps. In these situations, you may frequently find yourself running low on ammo and needing to promptly switch to your backup weapon.
Without the right loadout, you will most likely lose that gunfight.
Best pistol loadouts in BO6, ranked
1. Grekhova
- Muzzle: Ported Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Laser: Target Laser
- Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
As a devoted enthusiast, I often ponder why the Grekhova tops this list, not just because of its raw firepower, but due to its extraordinary attributes. The pistol’s time-to-kill speed, at 320 milliseconds, might seem on par with the 9mm PM, but it falls behind the GS45. Yet, what the numbers don’t reveal is the Grekhova’s remarkable fire rate, leading its class with an impressive 750 rounds per minute. This, I believe, sets it apart and justifies its top position on the list.
The Stryder .22 significantly outperforms its competitors since it ranks second at 500 rounds per minute. Typically, rapid-firing pistols struggle with accuracy, yet this isn’t a problem for the Grekhova. In fact, it fires like a submachine gun and excels in close combat as well as some medium-range encounters against enemies.
You don’t have to use Overkill for a secondary weapon unless the current state of this pistol changes (i.e., it isn’t weakened).
2. 9mm PM
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Laser: Sterlock Laser
- Fire Mods: Rapid Fire
Although the 9mm PM doesn’t match up to the Grekhova, it remains a robust pistol with numerous attractive features. Its three-shot effective range stretches as far as 17.5 meters, surpassing any other pistol in this regard. Moreover, its clear sight lines enable users to add additional attachments, enhancing accuracy, aim-down-sights speed, and rate of fire.
Regardless of our equipment, it’s not sufficient for significant progress. If the Grekhova isn’t toned down (nerfed) in the Season 1 update, we advise sticking exclusively to using it for now.
3. Stryder .22
- Muzzle: Ported Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Laser: Target Laser
- Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
Just like the 9mm PM, the Stryder .22 is undeniably a useful sidearm, yet it has an unusual aspect. The handgun boasts a dependable four-shot lethal range and swift time-to-kill speeds, but to fully utilize this semi-automatic weapon, you need to have a rapid trigger response.
If you’re comfortable with your skills, the Stryder .22 offers a delightful shift from the usual. However, remember it might not give you an edge in battles against more powerful firearms in its class.
4. GS45
- Muzzle: Ported Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Laser: Target Laser
- Fire Mods: Rapid Fire
At present, there’s little justification to employ the GS45 unless you’re engaged in camouflage challenges or aiming to acquire the Akimbo attachment for the Mustang & Sally in Zombies. The rapid time-to-kill (TTK) speed may deceive you, but its 286 rounds per minute fire rate is disappointingly slow and renders this weapon virtually impractical.
Furthermore, it’s worth noting that headshots won’t expand your range for a three-shot kill, and the pistol lacks precision due to its inaccurate design.
