As a veteran Warzone player who’s seen the rise and fall of various weapon metas, I can confidently say that the Marine SP has earned its place among the top contenders. From the KV Broadside’s Dragon Breath reign in WZ2 to the Haymaker’s domination in MW3, shotguns have always had their moments to shine.

In preparation for Warzone’s integration with Black Ops 6, shotguns have been significantly improved, making them an alluring choice, especially the Marine SP model.

Despite ARs and SMGs typically being the main players in Warzone, shotguns have occasionally shown their strength. In the year 2023, during WZ2, Dragon Breath rounds turned the KV Broadside into the standout weapon in battle royales, as it could take down enemies with just two shots.

Later on, experienced players may recall the Haymaker’s impressive performance in Warzone during Modern Warfare 3. This was largely due to a modification, the Aftermarket Part, which significantly boosted the shotgun’s firing speed by an astonishing 40%.

In simpler terms, this Marine Specialist’s equipment setup isn’t quite as powerful as some past weapon configurations, but when equipped correctly, this shotgun packs a formidable punch.

Best Warzone Marine Sp loadout

  • Muzzle: Modified Choke
  • Barrel: Long Barrel
  • Stock: Agility Stock
  • Laser: Sterlock Laser
  • Fire Mods: Rapid Fire

In an update, Raven Software modified the behavior of pump-action shotguns so that they can deliver a single powerful shot within their designated damage zones when aimed accurately. However, this improvement doesn’t extend to irritating semi-automatic shotguns, instead enhancing the efficiency of the Marine SP.

The Marin SP is capable of taking down foes with a single headshot from as close as 3.2 meters without additional accessories. However, the Long Barrel modification extends this effective range to 3.7 meters, which, though not a significant upgrade, every bit counts.

Instead, to prevent excessive hip-fire shooting by players, a shotgun will release five pellets when aimed down the sights as opposed to only four when fired without aiming.

Considering the given circumstances, we suggest enhancing the ADS pellet dispersion by adopting the Modified Choke method, and boosting hipfire-to-ADS precision with the Sterlock Laser.

To wrap things up, I’m all about that “Rapid Fire” feature! It amps up bullet speed, making it a breeze to fell foes faster. Plus, the “Agility Stock” is my go-to for enhanced agility and swift movements on the battlefield.

Best Marine SP Perks, Equipment & Class Specialty

  • Wildcard: Overkill
  • Secondary Weapon: Model L
  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade
  • Lethal: Throwing Knife
  • Perk 1: Dexterity
  • Perk 2: Quick Fix
  • Perk 3: Tempered

Mastering the art of outsmarting your adversaries is essential in Warzone, particularly for those who favor shotgun setups. This is why Dexterity, as a Perk 1, stands out because it minimizes weapon sway while moving sideways, diving, and leaping, and also lessens fall damage.

This advantage mainly lessens the impact of falls by approximately two meters, yet its positive effects on mobility more than compensate for what might seem a underwhelming ability.

In this case, it seems that ‘Perk 2’ doesn’t provide a lot of exciting alternatives. Therefore, the most sensible option is ‘Quick Fix‘, as it activates health regeneration upon inserting a plate or achieving elimination. Moreover, you can fire your weapon in a quick motion while equipping a plate, which could prove beneficial on multiple instances.

In saying that, it would be nice if the one-hand plate-equipping animation was faster.

Sprinter is often favored due to its ability to let you perform continuous tactical sprints. However, it’s important to note that this is misleading. You can indeed sprint indefinitely with the dedicated melee weapon, which means that this perk will only prove beneficial if your playstyle is so aggressive that you don’t have a moment to spare for drawing your weapon before engaging in combat.

Alternatively, Selection 3 presents a challenging dilemma. While it’s tempting to opt for Ghost, Gung-Ho, Birdseye, and Alertness due to their apparent advantages, we ultimately chose Tempered, as it enables you to attain maximum armor with only two plates instead of three.

Instead of using Frag Grenades, we opted for Throwing Knives to dispatch defeated adversaries. Lastly, Smoke Grenades offer concealment when traversing exposed spaces or retreating from enemies.

Where is the Marine SP in Warzone’s meta?

Among the 177 weapons available during Warzone Season 1, it’s worth noting that the Marine SP ranks as the 14th most frequently used, based on data from WZRanked. This suggests that players have come to appreciate its formidable shooting capabilities. In essence, this weapon offers a significant payoff but carries higher risks due to its high-risk, high-reward nature.

In brief encounters during Season 1, the Marine SP often defeats opponents with just one or two shots. However, missing a shot could lead to retaliation from other powerful close-quarter weapons. If you’re certain of your accuracy, the Marine SP is an excellent choice for short-range combat, given its effectiveness.
