Berserk Or Die Makes Slapping Your Keyboard The Main Control Scheme

The development studio behind Vampire Survivors, known as Poncle, is venturing into game publishing for the first time, and their debut title is Berserk or Die. This action-packed game, featuring an unusual control system, has been developed by a solo Japanese creator, Nao Shibata, who goes by the name Nao Games. The project was recently unveiled, and it’s now available for play.

During the PC Gaming Show, it was unveiled that Berserk or Die employs a unique control method: instead of the conventional way, players will strike the left and right sides of their keyboard to move and attack in those directions. The intensity of attacks is determined by how many keys are hit each time. Shaking the mouse triggers the player character’s special ability. Accessibility features, including an alternative controller-based control scheme, will also be provided for users.

During downtime between battles, players can buy healing items and magical restoration from nighttime vendors, and they may also train to acquire new skills for upcoming fights at designated training areas. The game Berserk or Die, by Nao Games, boasts distinctive pixel art and music composed by Filippo Vicarelli, who is known for his work on Vampire Survivors.

2023 saw the debut game from Poncle, titled Berserk or Die, making a splash in the gaming industry. This was followed by their roguelike action game Vampire Survivors. The team at Poncle describes Berserk or Die as the first of several projects they’ll release this year, marking their initial foray into the realm of publishing.

Berserk or Die is available now on PC.
